Charles Thomas is a writer, musician, and chef from Dayton, Ohio, where he first read Candide as a high school English assignment.
He graduated from Oberlin College with a degree in neuroscience, moved to California, and wasted almost three years on a promising career in research before discovering the higher calling of bumming around the desert with a touring rock band. Since that time, Charles has focused his professional energies on more creative outlets. He lives in northeast Ohio with his collections of musical instruments and foodie gadgets.
“Frank”, his modern re-telling of Candide by Voltaire, is his second novel.
Nate's main qualification for co-hosting this podcast is that he's known the author for almost 35 years. When he's not podcasting, Nate is an international human rights lawyer and activist. He's the proud father of two semi-fully-formed humans and a notably indifferent cat, and the lucky partner of a scary smart law professor. They all live mostly harmoniously in Eastern Massachusetts.
